Thekulthili Lake, NWT, Canada

He's HOME!!! I believe Cecil had the time of his life up in Canada with his friends. Eight days seems a bit long since there is no contact at all, but from the pictures you can tell he had a wonderful time. It probably helped that he caught the biggest fish. His prize Lake Trout came in at 37 lbs and 41 inches long. My cousin Jan up in Jackson has held the family record for a while, but I think Cecil might have bumped her to second place. We are all happy he's home. Enjoy the pics!

Well, I've survived another day and I am so exhausted, I'm too tired to sleep. Is that possible??? Lydia decided to climb out of her crib at 12 months and was fine in a big girl bed. With a third baby on the way, I've been wondering when David now 20 months would decide to get out. For a couple of months I've been pestering Cecil that something is wrong with the kid. He just tells me that most kids don't go to college sleeping in a crib. Thank you very much. I just refuse to buy another crib. However after dealing with H1N1 kids for four days alone and unable to reach Cecil, did my little guy have to choose tonight to really figure it out???? That's right. I've known he can get out, because it's happened just a handful of times but no, tonight when I'm at the end of my rope is the night David has decided to climb out. After the sixth attempt which included a goose egg from his anger at me by banging his little head on the door I gave up and did something I refuse to do after they are done nursing. I rocked my big little guy to sleep for thirty minutes and tucked him into the bunk bed he will now share with Lydia. Have I created a new long habit??? Probably, but I'll deal with it better when Cecil is back in country. For the next five days I think this will be a pattern, but at least it should work by 9:00 instead of midnight. As for Lydia, she seemed oblivious it to it all. I love that she likes her story, song, and prayer and lights out. Hopefully David will figure out that is the ideal situation for bedtime. Oh, sorry for the runon sentences. I'm lacking in sleep and a brain right now.

H1N1

Of course when Cecil leaves for his famous fishing trip in Canada and the only way I have to contact him is the Royal Canadian Mounty Police, the kids have H1N1. That's right. A few days ago as a precaution my Dr. decided to treat me as a preventitive measure since I'd been exposed. However, I'm fine and the kids symptoms came on their own. David is way worse off than Lydia. After another visit to Primary Children's Hospital, i.v. fluids, and four hours later we were home. Again I'm grateful for such a great medical facility so close by. I'm also fortunate that Cecil stockpiled his pharmacy with the medication we needed. I'd post some kind of picture, but my lovely camera is in the Northwest Territoy of Canada. Lots of love to all!!!
