At Last!

Michael Joseph Shern arrived on Wednesday, August 26, 2009. Thanks to Judy for taking me to the Doctors office early. Thank you to my Dr. for deciding to have me go to the hospital that day for an even earlier delivery date. I think August 26 was a great day, better than the 31st which is what we were planning for and definately better than 9-9-09, which was the actual due date. That would have been a fun birthday, but unrealistic. Here are a few pics of our newest addition. Also, thanks to Bree for having the announcements already made, you are so on top of things.

Another week, come and gone!

Nothing too exciting this week. We had a lazy Sunday and took the kids to the park and had a little picnic. It's probably the last outing before #3 makes his appearance. All I can say is broken ribs, sore lungs, I'm so ready for him to be here. I also now understand the pain of contactions. I was fortunate enough with the first two that they were scheduled before that ever happened. Little Michael on the other hand is giving me a run for my money. I'm scheduled for the 31 and it can't get here soon enough. We have the hospital bag packed with camera and battery, so I'm posting a picture of Zion's Park, when Cecil took the Young Men down there.

Happy Anniversary!

I can't believe Cecil and I met eight years ago and then married two years later. Time zipped right on by. We had a great weekend. My brother-in-laws parents celebrated their 40th Anniversary this past weekend and we were fortunate enough to be invited to the celebration. I've been feeling envious of friends and cousins who have been going on Babymoon's and I never knew such a thing existed. So, since our anniversary was coming up we decided to make a night of their anniverary party and stay downtown at the Hotel Monaco. It was a great treat. It helped that we were upgraded to the Presidential Suite also. The only draw back was I forgot to put the battery in the camera. That's the problem with the kind that need to be charged. Oh well, it was a great weekend and thanks to Piper for taking care of the kids. We owe you big time!!!

Lydia is the same

Yes, I forgot to mention that Lydia had jet black hair when she was born and then it changed to a lovely shade of blonde. Who knows, with me as her mother her hair could end up every color in the rainbow.

Summer Fun

I'm overwhelmed with emotions on life! I have severe asthma and the last month of my pregnancies I don't do well. My poor husband has to listen to a laundry list of to do's if I die, he's such a good sport and just tolerates my hormones and irrational thoughts. The fires in the valley last week did nothing good for my lungs. After a 4 hour hospital stay, I was able to come home and told 5 days of rest for me to recover. When you have 2 kids, that's kind of a joke. I'd like to thank my friends and family who are taking care of my little munchkins, while I take care of breathing. As I was thinking what pictures to post this time, my heart went to Jackson. My mom's side of the family has lived there since the early 1900's and it is a truly beautiful place. The view of the Teton's is from where our family's original homestead was before the government took it and exchanged it for new land so that it could be in Teton National Park. In just my 32 years the foundation of my great grandparents home has slowly returned to nature. If you know where to look you can still see some of the rocks. I also get a kick out of little Lydia. Her first boating experience was on Jackson Lake a family favorite. Her next experience a year later included bears on the beach. I'm looking forward to next summer when we can take David and Michael up to see the family. I can not believe it's been two summers since I've been up there. Life just shouldn't be too busy to not enjoy the beauty all around us.
