Winter Wonderland

I love cold weather. I am loving this snow. Tonight we played on our snow hill that Cecil built for the kids. And in ususal Shern Style, the kids went on a sled ride behind the 4wheeler. Even Michael had a turn with Lydia, he seemed just as happy being pulled on the little disc. Beautiful snow, I can't wait to head up to Alta for some ski time!

Happy Thanksgiving

Because of the hectic month, I opted out of Thanksgiving. Doing this was a little unusual since I love to entertain. We opted for Buca Di Beppo instead. Originally I thought family would join us, but instead it was The Shern Family of 5 and Uncle Tom. We had a great time and I loved that there were no dishes to be done. Earlier in the day Cecil used the 4wheeler to create our own hill in the front yard for the kids to sled on. Reminds me I should get a picture of that! Lydia made a whole book on Thanksgiving this year and what it means to her. She is thankful for:clothes, movies, blankey, Mom, Dad, Michael Joseph, and only sometimes David. At least she's honest.

Vegas!!!

We had the opportunity to go to Vegas and stay at the Wynn Resort. Question, why doesn't my bedroom look like this??? We had an amazing time. We saw Blue Man Group (Cecil's fav), Le Reve, and Jersey Boys. Loved the shows!!! Kind of a bummer that they drop the F Bomb so much in Jersey Boys, but the performances were all incredible. While Cecil was busy I spent some nice time at the Vegas Premium Outlets. I've never been one to enjoy shopping, but this trip was different and I spent close to 4 hours there. I accomplished Christmas shopping and picked up a few great things just for me as well. I love my kids, but it's not often that I accomplish both hair and makeup in a day and so I had fun going through the ritual of getting dressed up without the pressure of a little one needing me. Thanks to Pattee and Grant for watching our little people. After the last month of traveling with kids and having company it was a lovely getaway!

Delivery Time

I love November! We have our meat delivered once a year. I think this is our fifth year. The company is called Town and Country Foods. It's based out of Greeley, Co. It is hormone/antibiotic/steroid free and the animals are open range fed. It breaks down to under $80.00 a month which I think is a great deal for the "organic fed" meat. Anyone who knows me knows I'm the granddaughter of a cattle rancher and love meat! The food is also freeze flash packed and its portioned individually. I'm posting the pics because so many friends have always loved the freezer the day of delivery and I thought it would be fun to post the empty view as well. And I always get a lovely turkey and two spiral hams. Let the good times roll!

STAY AWAY FROM THE FISH!

Kaiser is very protective of our beautiful fish in the pond. Darn cat needs to step off! Eventually Kaiser tired of barking at the dirty black cat. I admit it was pretty funny to see the cat fall of the fence post too, vinyl just isn't as sturdy as a wood fence. Ha ha ha. Good job puppy.

Mickey Mouse on Ice

We took the oldest of the Shern/Binks kids out for a last hoorah! And the daddy's stayed home with the little boys. Ice shows are awesome! The kids had fun and it was bittersweet.

Busy week

The Binks family bunked up with us for a week, since their household goods were sent away.
Yesterday they left Utah to start their new life in Texas. We wish them well and will miss them much. It felt like the neverending party festival to me. We had a great party (already documented) the girls went to Tsunami for dinner, and then a huge group went to Leatherbee's. I also can say for sure that I will never have 6 kids. To all the mom's that do, you are angels and deserve top honors! Bree with a gun was just too much to pass up posting.

So long, Farewell, Binks' Going Away Party

Bree, if you're going to make ridiculous faces you must know I will publish them for all to see. A few neighbors had the idea to do a Progressive Dinner Party for Bree and Jason. Instead we did dinner at my house. A modest gathering of 32 neighbors, what a blast. The food was yummy and the company extaordinary!

My Husband

My wonderful husband. Thanks for the wonderful trip our whole family was able to go on. It meant alot for me to be at Amy's Wedding since she wasn't at mine. And for being so patient with the kids and especially me. It was no easy task flying the 5 of us across the country. I love you so much. Did I mention you are one good lookin dude???

A Beautiful Bride and Groom

Robert and Amy, we had a wonderful time and wish you the best life together. You are a beautiful couple and we couldn't be more excited for you as you start your journey together. Welcome to this big family Robert. The Shern's love you and were thrilled to be a part of your very special day! Amy, I treasure the quiet moments through out the day we got to have together just you and me. We've come along way since we were 4. The moment I turned the corner to help you get ready to leave and saw you sitting there was priceless. Love your guts! Marcy

Wedding Party

Of Course I never remember to take pics. A beautiful ceremony, poor Amy's veil kept sliding out of her hair. What to do?? Let it fall or as Matron of Honor, prevent disaster and shove it back in her hair durring the vows??? That's right I take my job seriously, I must have shoved that comb into her head at least 5 times. But she looked gorgeous. And the dancing was fun. All the little kids had a great time. I immediately ruined my hair and makeup by dancing right from the start. I'm hoping Amy's photographer caught some pics that I can post later. These will have to do though. Lydia has also discovered how to take a self portrait. In typical Shern fashion Michael Joseph fell asleep among all the noise.

Wedding Day Prep

The morning started early. I was treated to a makeup artist and hair. I looked smokin hot, too bad there aren't any pics. With three little kids, Cecil was pretty busy while I was helping the Bride. I love this pic of Robert with Amy. Oh yeah, Amy's dad Robert, Father in law Robert Sr. Fiance/Groom Robert Jr. Amy's nephew Baby Robert, there were lots' of Roberts'.
