ALL IN A WEEK

There are no pictures because it has been a crazy week.  I like to think that our family is close and we help each other out.  Back when we were first married Cecil's stepfather was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor.  I was fortunate to schedule myself when to or not to work and would take him up to the Huntsman Center for treatments when Cecil's mom could not.  The thing about families is they pull together when the going gets rough.  Well it got rough for the Shern, Williams, Beggs, family starting last Wednesday.  We started with a knee surgery, a colonoscopy, (both procedures on the same day)  Cecil was one place helping and I at another place helping) an enlarged appendix, gall stones, hiateal hernia+ulcers, acromoioclavicular/biceptear (seperated shoulder), and now a torn achilles tendon.  Oh My!  But I like to look at the glass half full.  I was just released as Compassioante Service Leader and put into the Primary Presidency (I have something to learn).  But it's probably for the best because I can focus on Mi Familia and help take care of them as well as me.  Oy Vey!!!  Which sent me to ponder some scriptures and thought I'd share this one from Alma 36:3 " And now, O my son Helaman behold, thou art in thy youth, and therefore, I beseech of thee that thou wilt hear my words and learn of me; for I do know that whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictons, and shall be lifted up at the last day."  To my sweet family know this, we'll pull together and get thru this time so stay strong and keep the faith.    Also to the other part of our family: Aerakis, Davis, Shern, and Wheelwrights' Try to stay in good health for a little while.  I'm a little stretched thin right now, but if not we'll be there!  And now my shoulder is good and iced so off to bed with me.  (I'm sure this won't be the last 3:00 a.m. post.)  Ha ha ha

7th Annual BBQ

I thought last year was out of control, NO WAY! This year there was definately more than 100 and wow, it was crazy!  I wasn't going to do this since my partner in crime Bree left me for Texas, but Christina said NO WAY!  Although IF (BIG IF) I do this again, I think I'll turn it into an Ice Cream Social.  Because I used the same place for the Bounce House, they threw in the Sumo Wrestling Suits.    That was a huge hit.  The lovely Judy put pictures on a disc, so I need her to come help me get those onto the blog, but for now.....  Cecil and Jon went at it, Ashley (bootcamp buddy/friend extrodinaire) and I went at it, and my brother Larry and his cute wife Pia had a go.  As did most of the people at the party.  It was great!

David's First Day of School (Twice)

I love my little boy!  David will be attending two preschools this year.  Two days a week the local school district sends a bus for him.  He has been speech delayed, but I'm told that he probably won't qualify once January comes around.  The teachers and therapists have been amazing and he's really starting to talk and the best part is other people are understanding him.  The other two days a week he'll go to the same school as Lydia did.  We have a lot of kids from our neighborhood going, so we actually are able to carpool.  Here is his little friend Pressley.  And of course Lydia wanted to be a part of the picture for his first day, and I love Michael Joseph yawning wondering why the big kids are dressed and ready to go.
