Mother's Day
Do we ever really appreciate our Mother??? I think we take them for granted. My mom and I couldn't be more opposite and yet when you get right down to it, she's my mom and I constantly think of her. Of course we have had our share of fights, tears, heartache, and now as a mom myself, I understand her so much more. I'm not the most eloquent writer, but here's to you Mom, Happy Mother's Day and thank you for the life you gave me. To the other special women, Mary Lou, Cindy, Susie, Grandma Dot, Julie, you have all influenced me and helped me to become the woman and mother I am. Happy Mother's Day as well.

Cecil's B-day
So, the kind of wife I am: The one who forgets to take pictures of Cecil's B-day party. We actually just had the immediate family, both grandpa's, sisters, brother, spouses and my cute niece and super handsome nephew. We kept it simple with some Pizza and homemade cake, (not by me but a talented friend.) Cecil recieved some great presents; some golf gear, a new camel pack for his mountain bike adventures, and multiple gift cards to Cabella's. He had mentioned the amount of "Gear" he was going to need for his Canada fishing trip in June. So on my selfish part, I thought the money he could get in gift cards to go towards that, I can have to do what I want, which is more improvements to the house. Coniving, I know. And as for Lydia, there were no crazy adventures this week, which in itself is like a vacation!!!!

It had to happen sooner or later

So, today started out nice and went downhill fast. As I was folding clothes and Cecil was in the shower I noticed it was really quiet. Cecil thought he heard the 4-wheeler start. I went running down to the garage and there were my two little people throwing fertilizer on the 4-wheeler. Still not sure if they actually turned it on. So we put the little buggers inside while we clean the mess. Then I walk into the house which leads right into the laundry room and then my salon and there sits my little 18 month old getting a haircut from his 3 year old sister. About a month ago we did a buzz off to support our friends son who is fighting cancer. It is one thing for me to shave David's hair down to 1 inch all over and another for Lydia to put such nice chunks down to skin. I couldn't bring myself to completely buzz his head, but it is just 1/8 inch long and you can still see the chunks. Let's just be grateful that she didn't actually stab him. I now know that Lydia can climb up the shelves and reach the scissors that are on top. Lesson is we will now put them in a lock box. Enjoy the pics. Also, we will be having another little boy to be named Michael Joseph after grandfathers.

On Sunday we decided to do a long road trip to the Spiral Jetty. I don't advise this if you are more than 3 months pregnant due to bumpy road and constant pit stops. However it was a wonderful day. I remember learning about this back in college in a Humanities class. With the low lake levels, it is now accessable after being submerged for the last 2 decades. Also if you want to make the trip, make sure to have a cooler full of goodies, we didn't expect it to be quite so remote. And if you have a dog, try to keep the K-9 from drinking out of the Great Salt Lake. This is definately an all day excursion but totally worth it. Oil exploration has been submitted for this area and has been denied so far, but if it were to be approved the worry is it will probably effect the Spiral.

AGAIN!
I'm not quite sure what it is about me, pregnancy, and falling but it's happened again. After two falls with David, I've tried to move slow and always use hand rails when going up or down stairs. But I fell going down my parents new porch stairs (I was holding the railing) I have resprained the same ankle and it is painful. Oh well, what can you do. The best part is the Dr. telling me to stay off it for about a week and use cructches. Yeah right. The clincher is Lydia was invited to a birthday party at Chuckee Cheese, which I'll never do, anyway while there a huge man that had to be at least 300 lbs stepped on the foot with the sprain. I'd like to catch a break already. Other than that life is great!
